2024 Retreat Information

2024 Retreat dates: October 4th, 5th, & 6th
10:00 a.m. on Friday to 3:00 p.m. on Sunday

Our retreat is held at Camp Chippewa just outside of Ottawa Kansas and it is a beautiful setting for us. There are numerous walking trails and lots of nature to just sit out on our deck and enjoy. Depending on the weather, we have even been known to serve meals out there.
We set up all sewing in the common area and there are 4 large bedrooms set up dormitory style, they all have bunk beds in them, but we only use the bottom bunks. The top bunks most of us use for extra clothes, towels and projects.
We take care of the meals, breakfast is a mix of muffins, English muffins, and sweet rolls, we always have juice and milk and make coffee whenever anyone wants more.  Lunch on Friday is usually sandwiches and lunches on Saturday and Sunday can be either a sandwich or leftovers, your choice.  We always have lots of “goodies” to eat along with fresh fruit and veggies.
We take care of the main meal on both Friday and Saturday nights with full meals. We do ask our ladies to bring something to eat and we will ask you for something specific, such as a couple bags of chips, salad dressing or some type of this item. Many ladies like to bring a special treat that they like and we encourage that, just make sure you know the recipe because someone will ask for it!
You will need to bring your own bedding, many ladies simply bring a sleeping bag and pillow, I have to have sheets and of course a quilt.  You will also need to bring your own towels and washcloths, bath soap, and any other personal product that you will want, but please leave the perfumes at home.  The bathrooms are communal and there are four stalls and four showers in each one.
The cost of the retreat if you book and make a $75.00 deposit when we open Early Bird pricing is a total cost retreat being $250.00.   If you book after the Early Bird pricing window has closed, the cost is $300.00.  We encourage you to bring at least three or more projects to work on as you will be surprised what you get done.  Donna and I will keep everything cut and pressed for you as you sew on your different projects.  Donna and I will do this between the hours of 8am and 8 pm, after that we take a break and rest.  You can sew all night long if you like and many ladies do.
If you need a kit or two cut, we will be more than happy to do that for you, but we do need at least two weeks before the retreat to get it done.  You can show up on Friday of the retreat any time after 10 am and we ask that you be packed up and gone by 3 pm on Sunday as that gives Donna and I time to put all the tables and chairs up and clean the building before we leave.
